Geburtstag

Birthday: Part XXIII

Kew Gardens: Plants, walk, scary treetop walk, encounter with my favourite marine animal

British Museum: German Romantic Art exhibition, general wander around

Selfridges: Paul&Joe dress

Gaucho's @ Embankment: cocktails, yummy steak, card and present

All in all ---> a wonderful day filled with the things I enjoy the most. Food, animals, plants, cocktails, Germanic art and history and shopping :)

...and the day after, I was surprised by my nearest and dearest with a wonderful party at 43 Warlters. I even made a wish with a Thai lantern.

Hajj

British Museum: Hajj exhibition

Informative. Colourful. Installations.

Bored

Monopoly. Saturday night. Thirsty. All these combined with the fact that I would rather be OUT and ABOUT town = boredom.

Shanks

A lamb shank = stinco in Italian. That amuses me for some (probably) childish reason. Anyhow, during my Christmas holidays, I only managed to cook once - and I cooked stinco di agnello. With mash. And plenty of red wine.

I am heading back to London today, and as always am feeling rather sad about leaving Italy. This trip has flown by but I have learnt some incredibly valuable things:
a) how to make cantucci
b) how to make lasagne
c) how to make a healthy carrot cake
d) how to relax

I always seem to have a problem relaxing. Don't get me wrong- I am terribly good at being lazy but I do not
know (correction, did not know) how to relax. There was no middle ground for me. I had to either be 'doing' something, or sleeping.
I think that whilst I was having my pedicure, I relaxed. It was rather, relaxing I must say.

Happy New Year: 2012 edition

Last night, I was thinking about the past year. Again. So much has happened, I sometimes wonder how I managed to keep sane.

Do I have resolutions?

Yes, I do.

1. Stop biting my nails
2. Step out of the house once a month with no make up on
3. Spend more time researching my dissertation topic
4. Travel and explore England

Yeah. That's it for now.
Oh, and I also forgot. I think it's about time for me to grow up and stop being a doormat. I never used to be one, so how did I suddenly become one in the last few months?
So, that's two more added to the list:

5. Grow up
6. Stop being a doormat

On a more positive note, I am glad that the "festive" season is over.
